Iskcon Temple is one of the largest temples in India. It couldn’t have gotten any perfect timing than a krishnastami to visit this beautiful temple.I reckon it was the apt day for us to take darshan of the Lord Krishna. This day called for a huge celebration all over.
Ravi and I decided to go to this beautiful temple yesterday on the eve of krishnastami. It was about 50 mins drive from Reading. It was a comfortable drive. We reached there around 12 noon. The atmosphere was so pious with so many people chanting the Hare krishna Manthra which was so soothing to hear.We became one in the crowd and started singing the manthra with them. The feeling way after the chanting was very gratifying.
For all i know it looked like a team effort to me.We had couple of rounds there just to check the arrangements. It was incredible.Soon after that we were very peckish decided to eat in the Govardhan stall which was put up there. It had a long queue ,we waited finally we ordered samosa chat, pizza and tapioca chips. It was reasonably hot so we didn’t like it much.
We sneaked in to the darshan line at a very decided point in time.It was quite a long wait.It was manageable, finally we entered lord Krishna’s Mandir. It was amazing to see the decorations and the amount of money that goes into it.
It was a nice day spent at the mandir.
